Today is my 5th week in surgical posting. We are supposed to clock in everydays except on saturday and sunday in the department before 8 a.m. and then go to the ward or lecture. That is how our routine is.
But this morning it is reaining heavily. This is the third wave which might worsen the flood, the worst after history of flood around 1971 I think which affected most of the statea in Malaysia, especially Kelantan at east coastal areas. Kuantan is also affected this time but not as bad as the one occured last year, I mean, so far.
So I drove back to college after clock in, afraid if I got stranded with my little sedan car in the flood which may happen anytime within minutes in town. My plan to clerk two or three patients was cancelled, hoping the rain will stop soon so that I can go to hospital this afternoon or evening. But it seems like the rain won't stop. Poor Kelantan.
May Allah help us...somehow, I feel really proud because Malaysians are really helpful, it is like volunteerism is in their chromosomes. In the hardest time especially this disastrous year, airplanes lost and crashed, or shot down to be exact, tsunami-like floods. These tough moments turn the enemies into siblings. Let take this as a test for our nation in growing stronger becoming more mature in handling issues and in facing the upcoming new year. Somehow, I fell really proud with my country because most Malaysians have volunteerism in their chromosomes.
Back to the story, after my friend got into car I started the engine. Just before I drove out from Jalan Hospital Campus (JHC), I saw Prof Saufi, our reapected neurosurgeon walked with umbrella heading towards HTAA. And i thought
" Thank, God I'm still a student Boleh balik. Kalau dah kerja memang kena stay kat hospital la stranded x stranded."
To the doctors out there, you have my enormous respect!!!
Planning to go help the flood victims this weekend. Hoping the rain will stop soon, because the weather forecast has stated the long rainy season might continue up until 2nd January. But only God can control the weather so lets pray for the best.
May Allah ease.

Temerloh, I've been posted in a hospital there, HoSHAS and just came back last week just before the flood hit.
